Warehouse and Logistics

If you elect to train as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist, you can expect to be assigned some varied and important tasks in Goods Receipt, the Warehouse and Purchasing as well as in Packing and Shipping. In the Purchasing department you’ll be taught how to select purchase sources, compare quotations, order the goods required by Administration and Production and of course pay vendor invoices. And when materials or parts are received from our suppliers, it will be up to you to check the quantity and quality against the accompanying documents and ensure proper storage. In Shipping, it’s the opposite way round. You’ll be responsible for everything that leaves the premises: you’ll make up the shipments, pack the goods and take care of all the accompanying documents such as delivery notes and customs declarations. Your duties will moreover include loading trucks and containers with a forklift and securing freight.

We also offer training as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist in combination with a higher-level qualification called “AusbildungPlus” (TrainingPlus), which includes additional modules in foreign trade, controlling, English and either French or logistics. A three-week international placement is a compulsory element here.

Requirements

• Good junior secondary school leaving certificate or intermediate secondary school leaving certificate
• Eligibility for the higher-level qualification: Entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences / university entrance qualification
• Interest in planning and organisation
• Interest in business processes
• Basic command of English

Duration of training

• 3 years
• Training can optionally be shortened to 2.5 years

Vocational college parallel to traineeship

• Humpis College in Ravensburg
• One or two teaching days per week
• Intermediate examination (Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
• Final written / oral examination (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) plus a presentation on one aspect of your work
