automation in a new dimension

Corona – We’re all pulling together at futronic

The coronavirus has had the world in its grip for weeks now. It has impacts on the way we live together, on the economy – indeed on practically everything we do, and we have no option but to learn to live with massive restrictions. Society as a whole now has a duty to do whatever is necessary to at least slow down the spread of the pandemic. We at futronic are similarly conscious of our responsibility, which is why we have introduced a series of appropriate measures and rules of behaviour. The health and well-being of our employees is our number one priority!

  • In addition to the usual hygiene and preventive measures, for example, we have also stipulated that the number of social contacts be reduced to a bare minimum. Amongst other things, we no longer take breaks together in one and the same department.

  • Meetings, too, only take place where absolutely essential; otherwise, we make use of digital channels to communicate and interact with one another.

  • The same applies to business trips: important trade fairs worldwide have in any case been cancelled and our sales people have shelved virtually all visits to customers for the time being.

  • However, it goes without saying that we are still there whenever our customers need us, and we now provide advice or carry out maintenance by telephone, email or remote access instead. Our service engineers are only sent out if there is no other alternative.

  • Where feasible, all our employees work from home in the meantime. If their role at the company does not allow this, the people concerned are divided between the resulting empty offices. The aim is to maintain the maximum spatial separation between our employees, even if they normally work in the same department.

  • Where possible, employees in the various production areas are likewise working in isolation from one another. Parallel to this, we have introduced a two-shift model to ease the situation additionally. Shift changes are staggered in order to restrict avoidable social contacts to a minimum here too.

  • Finally, a new working time model has been put in place to provide vital flexibility for all employees who have to look after their children as a result of school closures.

We are well aware of the tense situation and this is not an easy time for any of us. However, we are confident that we can find a way through this challenging period together. Our order books are full and we currently see no reason to bring in short-time working or lay people off. The above package of measures is designed to keep our business operations going as normal.

We would like to thank our employees sincerely for their immense understanding and solidarity. Everyone here is pulling together! And hoping for the best – for our families, our customers, our business partners and all of you out there.

Stay healthy!
