The new trade fair year has got off to a promising start. Murat Yolaçan travelled to Glassman Europe last week on behalf of futronic to present our controls and drives at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) overlooking the Bosporus. He reported on his return that the stand – and indeed the fair as a whole – attracted a steady stream of visitors, and on both days he was available to answer questions about futronic and our technologies. He talked shop with knowledgeable attendees from Turkey and other countries, including from the Arabic-speaking world, and of course he also took the time for the odd personal chat – in fluent Turkish, thanks to his ‘home advantage’. “There was an awful lot going on”, he adds: “good contacts, good conversations – small seeds from which something good will hopefully develop”.
Considerable interest in VPC
Murat was also happy to provide information on the VPC Vacuum Process Control system, originally unveiled by futronic at glasstec 2022, where it met with considerable interest. And in Istanbul, too, the system proved to be a major talking point: “It was very well received”, he confirms.
Exhibitors and visitors remember the earthquake victims
It goes without saying that the event was overshadowed by the terrible earthquake disaster just two days previously. Exhibitors and visitors alike began the trade fair and conference with a moment of silence for the countless casualties. There was also an appeal for donations from the organisers and a relief agency. “It was obviously also a recurring topic in our conversations”, Murat recalls. “Our thoughts are, and will remain, with the victims and their families.”
More trade fairs firmly booked
Istanbul was only the curtain-raiser for a busy trade fair year 2023, and the futronic calendar is rapidly filling up with more important dates. Glassman USA in Cleveland in June and Glasspex India in Mumbai in September are firmly booked, for instance. futronic will probably also be in attendance at Glassman Asia, which opens its doors in Seoul, South Korea, less than a week later. And the Lake Constance region will likewise play a prominent role: futronic will be exhibiting at several All About Automation venues, namely at the beginning of March in Friedrichshafen and in Zurich in Switzerland in August. In short, there’ll be plenty of opportunities in the coming year to renew old acquaintances, make new contacts, take part in TechTalks and do business with each other. We look forward to seeing you – whenever, wherever!
